Here's a challenge for the beginning of the year. This forum is an opportunity for you to think about ways you and your students are going to 'seep' out into the world. The wero is for you to be brave, dive in and Finish this sentence: "This year I plan to use **INSERT TECHNOLOGIES HERE** to make connections with parents and whānau so that..."

This challenge/wero thread is live in Enabling e-Learning | Beyond the Classroom group.

smiley FORUM: Connecting Communities of Learning through technologies, 10 March - 10 April

This conversation will be held in the Professional Learning group.

smiley FORUM: Authentic curriculum in action 20 March - 20 April

Authentic learning is nothing new right? We do this everyday. What happens when learning is more engaging, relevant and authentic for learners, where building student agency and ownership of learning becomes the norm? Great things can happen, that's what. This forum will support the live event sharing how authentic learning can become part of specialty curriculum areas. This is also an opportunity to draw ideas from yourselves as you share ways your students have been engaging in learning that has made a difference for them.

This conversation will take place in the Teaching group.

Your input and ideas are valued and welcome in all of these forum discussions. This is your community, so please feel free to add your ideas, experience, expertise or wonderings.

Connected Learning Advisory webinars

The Connected Learning Advisory — Te Ara Whītiki is a free, Ministry of Education service which gives advice on support on integrating digital technologies with learning.

In 2017, the advisory is offering opportunities for school leaders, leaders of digital technologies and teachers to come together and explore effective ways to manage and plan how your school or CoL use digital technologies for learning.

Sessions will support teachers to:

  • model ways of professional learning

  • make connections across local schools through clusters, networks and sharing stories.

  • gain a clear, pragmatic sense of next steps in their own contexts
