Hopefully everybody is back into the swing of things after braving the first week back...

Old-school animation  will be happening in my room this term using flipbooks and one of my  favourite artists to share with students...Keith Haring.

Skateboard decks seem to crop up annually -  2015, 2016 and again  in last weeks 2017 thread on decks, to access use the log-in ‘artsonline’ and the password ‘mailinglist’.

 

Coming Up…

  • 1 day left to register for The Art of Education online conference featuring Sir Ken Robinson

  • Tuesday 8th August, 12.30pm - 3.30pm. half day painting workshop Kohia Education Centre - cost $95 per person

  • Osmeivy Ortega, Cuban printmaker,  in New Zealand for five weeks,  until the 5th September. Limited availability for workshops with small groups of students - contact Rosemary Theunissen at Otahuhu College for details.

  • 25th August - last day to register students for the Wallace Art Award

In this Active Art Project by teacher Giovanni Perdicchia students interpreted postures of the main characters in some famous paintings observing details that might otherwise go unnoticed, in the process creating some startling images of students reminiscent of Deborah Oropallo
