We’re all overwhelmed with how to prepare our kids to be citizens of a future world we can’t even imagine yet. Some advocates say the most important thing adults today can do for the next generation is to work in partnership with other parents and teachers to create a village of support when it comes to digital technology use.
I am new to this group and I appreciate what you are saying Ms. Reid, however, I am perhaps a little less overwhelmed and more excited at the prospects of our children entering a digital age where the technological assets they have enable them to leap frog into knowledge so much more tailored to their interests. Our roles have expanded as multi-media tools have evolved to help us more clearly convey important principles children need to learn. I love the worldly notion of digital citizenship and being from Canada, able to interact here with a site in New Zealand! Perhaps building a digital village is a good start.
