Tapasā cultural competencies framework - have you heard of it?

Malo everyone,

Consultation feedback has closed for this - but just wanted to signal that you can expect a report next month in August.  These would be what I would call the Pacific equivalent of Tātaiako - the Māori cultural competencies framework for mainstream schools with Māori learners.

Please comment below if you had heard about it - know nothing - would like to know more - and I can send you a draft copy of Tapasā to use with your schools until the finalised copy arrives.  This will be important to work in together with the new Ed Council draft of professional teachers standards.

Manuia le aso!

    Malo Aiono

I have heard about this and would like a copy of the draft framework.  I have tried looking online but to no avail.  Will you please send me a copy?  I am an RTLB and we recently lost our Pasifika leader to promotion.  Having this framework will allow us to carry on the good work we have been doing with regards to Pasifika Cultural Competence in our RTLB cluster.  I know the report is coming our next month but we have a cluster day scheduled for next Friday and having this will allow us to still have a Pasifika learning session, despite no longer having an assigned leader to drive it.  I am responsible for Māori Cultural Responsiveness and don't want to see the Pasifika work fall by the wayside.  Thank you.

    Ia manuia

    Malo Sam,

    Thanks for your query.

The reason why you can't find the framework is because it has been removed from the site.

I have uploaded the file onto "group resources".  See the left panel.

    Manuia le aso,

    Aiono Manu
