When you work in a 'virtual' world it is always a bonus to get out and meet people face to face. We took that opportunity last week to catch up with Angela and Dave at Papamoa College.  They were interested in finding out more about the VLN and how their students could be involved. We were treated to a tour around their brand new school with fantastic facilities. Though the gym, specialist teaching areas - art, music, technology areas were pretty impressive, I was most impressed with the large common areas (home rooms) for Years 7 - 10. Here students and teachers work together in teams in large flexible open spaces. Students were working in small groups, in groups with a teacher, one on one with a teacher, at computers, at desks, on coaches on the floor and even on an exercise machine! Everywhere we looked there was something different going on which to me reflects a more student centred way of learning and everyone engaged in what they were doing. We look forward to welcoming students from Papamoa into our online classes too Smile
