About me
Kia ora koutou,
My friends call me Jim and am excited to be extending my leadership learning this year through the NAPP programme.
I am currently employed at van Asch Deaf Education Centre in Sumner, Christchurch. Our Centre has a number of services including a Core School, Residential sevices and a Regional Teaching Services to mainstreamed deaf and hearing-impaired learners from the lower half of the North Island and the South Island.
At present, I have taken leave from my Regional Coordinator position to take on a Fixed Term Head of School in our Core School for 2012. Our Core School is a small school which since the Canterbury Earthquakes is now spread across three sites in Christchurch.
There are a number of challenges for me professionally and personally this year. Leading staff through change and developing consistent programmes for students at distance and across sites are to name a few!
Now to get started.... Hmmm....
