Musicnet Summary 20 October 2017

Kia ora tātou,

Welcome back to Term 4. I do hope that you were able to have a break, and prepare for the final term of 2017.

One thread this week was on how to manage noise around NCEA examinations in the hall. I know there are many schools that have their Music block next to or near the hall. Others are sometimes at the most furthest point away from the hall (thinking of New Plymouth Girls High School!) I’d encourage you to contribute to this discussion on creative ways that you manage your noise during assessment times.

Summary to 20th October 2017

General (for all Music Levels)

  • Robyn is looking for online resources/sites to subscribe to for songs for use in class/choir/band/whole school that are easy and user friendly. Some contemporary Christian songs would also be great.

  • The ISM Trust in the UK has released a free Primary Music toolkit.

  • Some great advice was shared in this thread on replacing aging iMac computers.
